On August 11, 2010, the Department of Justice, Office of Justice Assistance award Gadsden County through the sheriffs office a grant for technological improvements. The Gadsden County Sheriffs Office will utilize the FY2010 JAG funds to purchase a new Digital Recording System. The recording system will enable the officers and dispatchers to improve the quality of recorded information while reducing the amount of time spent on clerical matters.

Circumstances: Someone ran over Deborah Copeland with her own car, a 1980 blue Pontiac Phoenix, in January of 1986 and killed her. The car was found about a mile from the body near her Bonnie Hill Community just outside the City of Chattahoochee. She was 27 years old at the time of her death.
